A hidden gem just one hour from London, The Priory is an exclusive wedding venue set within beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. This magnificent space is licensed to host all civil ceremonies and presents exclusive use of the entire property, with a stunning 16th century Tudor barn providing the picture-perfect backdrop for vintage-style weddings and hailed as possibly the finest timber barn in England.
Described as a beautiful canvas on which to create your wedding with landscaped grounds and a picturesque summerhouse for open-air ceremonies, the atmospheric tithe barn transforms from an exquisite daytime venue to a magical setting for evening receptions to provide a contemporary edge with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.
The Priory’s eminent head chef creates signature dishes so that you can compose a mouth-watering menu for your guests, with arrival canapés, wedding breakfast and evening buffets, bespoke private menus and informal choices, such as a hog roast or barbeque – all perfectly prepared and beautifully served to suit your wedding style.
This prestigious venue can comfortably accommodate up to 150 guests during the day for dining and 180-200 guests sharing your evening event. The Priory’s wedding coordinator will help structure your day with a dedicated team on hand throughout. Its relaxed feel blends elegant service with first-class dining and features on-trend elements such as lime-washed Chiavari chairs and vintage pieces.
The Priory was created as a wedding venue in 1992 by John and Ann Hope, themselves happily married for many years. The couple fell in love with the idea of sharing this beautiful location and have since hosted more than 2,000 wonderful weddings and civil ceremonies.
With an exceptional reputation, vintage-style weddings have been perfected over many years – trusted for generations with seamless service, a unique personality and attention to every detail – these are all hallmarks of weddings at The Priory…
