The Mansion & Gardens, Port Lympne

The Mansion & Gardens, Port Lympne are located within the grounds of Port Lympne Wild Animal Park Kent, and boast truly exceptional views over Romney Marsh, the Kent coastline and over to France on the horizon. Commissioned by Sir Philip Sassoon in 1912, the mansion is celebrating its centenary anniversary this year. Sir Philip used the residence as his summer retreat, and entertained the likes of Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, Lloyd George and Lawrence of Arabia at his extravagant summer parties.

John Aspinall acquired the mansion and grounds in 1973 to provide more space for his ever expanding collection of wild animals, and the site has since developed into one of the leading tourist attractions in the south east.

The rooms within the mansion are all fantastically unique, and make planning your wedding day easy with their flexibility allowing them to be used as you wish. The majority of the rooms are named after the artists commissioned to paint the murals on the wall, and the Rex Whistler, Martin Jordan, Spencer Roberts and Glyn Philpot rooms are all recognised as some of the finest works by the respective artists.

The Long Room is located in the middle of the mansion and provides spectacular views over the terraced gardens, the Kent coastline and over to France. Sir Philip Sassoon used this room to entertain his guests at his summer events and parties

The mansion house itself is set in 15 acres of beautiful Italian renaissance terraced gardens with the Trojan steps, fountains and wishing well all providing the perfect backdrop to those all important photographs.

Also located next to the mansion is the recently refurbished Aspinall Suite offering a modern area for larger wedding functions and evening receptions.
