Cast Confirmed as the Latest Artist to Perform for the Absolute Radio Sessions at Hard Rock Cafe

Absolute Radio and Hard Rock Cafe today have announced the newly reformed band Cast as the next act to perform an intimate gig at the Hard Rock Cafe London. After reforming in 2010, the band saw huge success with a sell out UK tour and will now grace the stage at the Hard Rock Cafe London for the first time.

Cast have come a long way since the four members from Liverpool joined forces in 1992, enjoying commercial and critical success alike. They gained ten Top Ten singles, a double platinum and a platinum album, and were also described as ‘The Who of the nineties’. Their debut album ‘All Change’ became the highest selling album in their record label’s history, surpassing the efforts of even Jimi Hendrix.

After enjoying nearly a decade at the top of the British music scene Cast split in 2001. However, after their much celebrated reformation in 2010 they are back to their very best with their fifth album, Troubled Times, set for release on February 20th 2012.

Absolute Radio Presenter Geoff Lloyd will be announcing details of the gig live during his Hometime Show on Absolute Radio and said: “When you think of the 90’s, you think about great bands like Cast. They were cool, they were from Liverpool and their music formed part of the soundtrack of an amazing decade of music. Now they are back together I can’t wait to see them live in London at the Hard Rock Cafe!”

The Hard Rock Cafe London, who celebrated their 40th anniversary last year, will host the exclusive gig. Tickets can only be won by tuning into Absolute Radio, or visiting www.absoluteradio.co.uk.

A limited 20 complimentary tickets will be available for members of the public. These can be won by visiting www.facebook.com/thebackroomlondon and ‘liking’ the post relating to the Cast gig and leaving a comment on the post. Winners will be contacted via the Back Room Facebook page.

Highlights from the gig will be played out on Absolute Radio on Wednesday 7th March from 9pm and will be repeated the following night on the digital station Absolute Radio 90s.
