Conferences and Presentations - Taking Centre Stage
If your event hinges on the need for high impact presentations, then The Mermaid’s huge 80ft x 40ft stage in the auditorium is probably the best of its kind anywhere in London. The single rake auditorium itself has excellent sight lines, relaxing fold up chairs and plenty of legroom. Together with other break-out space, The Mermaid can comfortably host a conference and reception for up to 600 delegates.
Clever design within the auditorium and surrounding areas also makes The Mermaid ideal for smaller conferences, meetings and events. When you hire the Auditorium for a conference or a presentation, you get exclusive use of the Foyer, Bridge Bar and Gallery. These and other spaces can be used for registration, break-out areas and for catering. There are also options to set up exhibitions, sponsored stands and corporate signage.
Creating A Shop Window
An assigned event manager oversees and supervises every detail of your event – from initial costing through to its stage management. This includes advice to help you communicate your message to delegates, perhaps using moving lights to follow speakers, hanging banners or projecting branded logos, all to enhance the overall ambience and effect.
As for catering and hospitality, you can choose from a mouth watering array of options: receptions and corporate parties can be created to suit the mood. For example, you could have ‘organically prepared cheese and wine’, ‘traditional champagne and canapés’, or chose from a vast array of options.
Lunches are also designed around the conference, a full range of finger buffets, fork buffets and working lunches are all available for up to 600 guests. We can also serve seated banquets, for up to 170 guests, overlooking the River Thames.
Meetings And Seminars - Stylishly Successful
The Mermaid has an array of custom built rooms for meetings and seminars, including a specially designed conference floor, with state-of-the art equipment, natural daylight and air-conditioning in every room. Hugely versatile, the Bailey, Wright and Clifford rooms can be set up for meetings, video conferencing, informal team building, exhibitions or examinations.
The contemporary Boardroom with state-of the-art plasma screen, stylish accessories and relaxing chairs is perfect for Directors’ meetings. In conjunction with the River Rooms there is the Miles Room on the second floor, with natural daylight and state-of-the-art equipment.
For those who want to create a slightly different atmosphere, perhaps for a seminar or training course, the Studio, is an exciting option. With natural daylight, air-conditioning, a high ceiling and a parquet floor, the Studio has an edgy industrial feel. As always, The Mermaid can serve delegates a wide range of meeting, lunch and dinner services, in all cases you can be assured of the quality of the raw ingredients, the skill of the cooking team and the impressive style of presentation.
Parties And Events - A Venue For All Occasions
From the formal to the informal, the dramatic to the intimate, the Mermaid’s choice of function rooms with imposing views across the River Thames, of Tate Modern and the Millennium Bridge will offer an impressive backdrop for your event or celebration.
With stylish colours, a modern look, an intimate elegant charm and a vibrant atmosphere the Blackfriars Room and the River Room are ideal for drinks receptions, parties and corporate hospitality. The rooms are also suitable for informal dinners or lunches with a fantastic panorama of the River Thames day or night.
The Blackfriars Room can be used together with the River Room, linked by an internal staircase. Parties and cocktail receptions can also be held on the vast stage in the Auditorium. Individually themed and set for a drinks reception or a dinner after your presentation, it’s a very spectacular and unique space.
