November 2009 saw the opening of the long awaited Lime Wood hotel in the heart of the New Forest. A country house hotel with a difference, Lime Wood has been put together by a dream team of industry experts who have created the ideal countryside haven – including renowned interior designer David Collins, and co-founder and chairman of Hotel du Vin Robin Hutson. David Collins has re-designed the so-called English country style in this regency manor and scattered it with contemporary twists making it an instant classic. The hotel’s 29 rooms each have a magnificent view of the forest and, for those wanting total seclusion, the garden lodge rooms, which are nestled at the bottom of the garden, allowing you to totally immerse yourself in the forest. The rooms are enriched with natural textures such as knotted rugs, stitched leatherwork and silk curtains, with gorgeous bathrooms made of hand carved marble and traditional nickel fittings giving a chic classical feel.

Head Chef, Luke Holder serves up serious forest food in the Dining Room or if you’re in need of serious comfort food The Scullery will knock you up hearty beans on toast. The friendly staff offer excellent service with personality and style re-enforcing the hotels ethos of laid-back luxury. Explore the forest on one of the hotel’s fleet of bicycles, take a stroll along the beach, sit in front of one of the many open fires with a book, there is something for everyone…you can even bring your pets. October 2010 will see the luxurious Lime Wood spa opening which will offer delicious Bamford treatments for all those spa sybarites. The Cedar Room

This meeting and private dining room has abundant daylight with a floor to ceiling large bay window with access onto the terrace outside. There is a charming open fireplace and the room is fully set-up with AV.

The Cellar

With traditional brick vaulted ceiling and adjacent to the Wine Cellar an ideal room with a perfect atmosphere for both meetings, lunches or wine buff dinners.

The Drawing Room

Just as it has been for hundreds of years, The Drawing Room is the ‘smartest’ room in the house. With its panelling, silk wallpaper, oak floorboards, large bay window and open fireplace, it’s a perfect place for reception drinks and on finer days the adjacent terrace provides additional space.

But despite its smarter credentials, it’s a hugely welcoming room. Enjoy a pre-dinner glass by the fire or just chat the night away.

The Library

Libraries are always conducive to good thoughts. Lime Wood's is too, but it’s also a comfortable and chic retreat and is particularly well-suited for small informal conversations.There is a working open fireplace and beautiful bay window looking onto the gardens beyond.
